Capt Frederick L. Barrett attended Trinity College in Hartford for two years. He worked as a salesman for his father at the Barrett and Mitchell Investment Company.
He enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 26 November 1940.
He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for conspicuous gallantry in action against an armed enemy on 1 January 1945.
