S/Sgt Russell J. Sauriol enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 20 December 1943.One photo shows soldiers cleaning weapons before moving up to the line on 8 February 1945. The location of this photo would be the assembly area just south of Lauterborn, Luxembourg where Company I waited on 7-8 February before crossing the Sauer River from Echternach, Luxembourg into Germany at about midnight of 8-9 February. The soldiers are Pvts Dom Bocci, Russell Sauriol and John Ducharme from Co I.
