Capt Elige B. Baysinger was married to Virginia Gilbert on 5 June 1933 in Rogersville, Pennsylvania.

He enlisted in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on 17 February 1941.

According to the Daily Republican, his wife and children were anticipating the arrival of their husband and father when a telegram informed them that he had died in an army hospital in Germany. Capt Baysinger had become ill after V-E Day.
