Lt William H. Wolstein graduated from South High School. He attended Ohio State University with the Class of 1943 where he was a senior when he enlisted in May 1943. He studied civil engineering under the ASTP program at the South Dakota School of Mines until the program was disbanded. He was commissioned on 16 January 1944 and was sent overseas a month later.
