Pvt John Zimbardo attended high school for three years and was employed at the General Electric before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 25 May 1942.He died in a hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments on his tibia.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
