Pfc John F. Stein attended Pottstown High School and was employed at the Vaughan Knitting Mills before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 14 April 1944. He was sent overseas in September 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his shoulder.
