T/Sgt Roy G. Wander graduated from St. Mary Magdalene School and attended East High School. He was a letter carrier before he enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 16 November 1942.He was officially credited with downing two Messerschmidt 210s, three FW-190s dand two M-210s heavily damaged in 25 missions.
He bailed out the plane in misunderstanding. The plane was out of control. His body was found in Oostende, Belgium.
He was fatally wounded on his neck.
