More information

2nd Lt Thomas L. Luell enlisted in Ripon, Wisconsin on 12 December 1942.

Statement:
"The attack was so sudden and intense that no personal communication was possible. The position this man was flying was so riddled by gunfire, it is inconceivable that he could have survived. If he was wounded and unable to bail out, he was caught helpless when the ship exploded."

Lt Luell was first buried at the Community Cemetery, Wiehe, Germany on 8 October 1944.
