Robert P. Allison attended college and worked on a farm.He enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 21 April 1941.
The airplane was hit during a frontal attack by Major Borris of JG-26.
One crew member was taken prisoner, two men evaded capture and six men were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of the airfield of Sint-Truiden, Belgium on 20 August 1943.
At the location of the crash, a monument was erected in memory of the crew.
Lt Allison is also remembered at the Cemetery of Hollisterville, Pennsylvania.
