2nd Lt Paul A. Mac William graduated from Ballard High school in 1940 where he played in the orchestra.

According to S/Sgt Leonard A. La Marco, a surviving crew member, they were attacked by enemy fighters. Soon after they dropped their bombs, the #4 engine was shot out of the wing and #3 engine was burning.

Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, five were killed.
