After completing grade school, T/5 Rudolph H. Meyer worked on the family farm.
T/5 Meyer enlisted at Camp Perry in Lacarne, Ohio on 4 February 1942. He trained at Fort McClellan, Fort Benning, Camp McCoy and Fort Meade. He arrived in England in October 1944.
Both his parents were from Germany.
