Pvt Lawrence Mc Coy Jr. enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 20 March 1944.He was a mechanic before he enlisted. Private McCoy was a student of the Howard township school but was graduated from the Anderson High School. He was inducted into the service in March and received his overseas orders in August, 1944.
