Pvt Donald A. Meyer was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal before he enlisted at Camp Dodge, Iowa on 12 April 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.He was married to Evalyn Benshoof on 28 October 1943.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
