Sgt Richard N. Anderson graduated from Napa high school in 1942 and was a welder before he enlisted in San Francisco, California on 10 June 1943.Sgt Anderson was struck in the chest by a 20 mm German anti-aircraft shell which instantly killed him.
He was first buried on 15 April 1945 in a temporary grave at Margraten. He was disinterred on 13 August 1948 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 18 August. He was given his final resting place on 15 January 1949.
