William E. Grisham graduated from David Starr Jordan High School and attended college.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Amry of the United States in Los Angeles, California on 26 March 1942.
The B17 had the tail shot off by furious attacking FW-190's.
Only one crew member survived and was taken prisoner. Nine men were killed.
