Sgt Myles F. Hannify graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1938.

He enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 14 April 1942.

The aircraft was shot down by German fighters.

Two crew members survived and were taken prisoner, eight men were killed and initially buried at the community cemetery Hohenfelde on 7 January 1944.
