Robert Mc Clure attended high school for four years.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Newark, New Jersey on 4 August 1942.

The aircraft was shot down by German fighters.

Two crew members survived and were taken prisoner, eight men were killed and initially buried at the community cemetery Hohenfelde on 7 January 1944.
