More information

Peter Greyno was employed as a mechanic at Buck's garage in Webster. He became interested in aviation, and learned to fly. He had sufficient solo hours in the air to apply for a civilian's flying license but he had not yet done so when he enlisted in the Air Corps, four months after he became 21.

He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 2 October 1941.

The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters and also hit by flak. It was probably shot down by Lt. Gerhard Seifert of the 8/JG 26. It crashed near the target.
