S/Sgt Clarence H. Fischesser worked as a mechanic for the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Co. before he enlisted at Fort Thomas Newport, Kentucky on 3 April 1943.

He was killed in action when a shell exploded in the kitchen tent where he was preparing dinner.

A monument with his name can be found in the Delhi Township Veteran Memorial Park, Cincinnati, Ohio. On one photo, his widow, Mrs. Esther Wolff, poses at the monument.
