Donato Turchiano was a mechanic.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States in New York City, New York on on 22 October 1942.

This aircraft was seen to be hit by enemy aircraft fire. It dropped out of formation and varying reports say that from 8 to 10 parachutes were seen. Some crews say that the aircraft exploded after the crew had bailed out.

Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, four men were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Raucourt-et-Flaba on 28 february 1944.

S/Sgt Turchiano's remains were found on the place of the crash, his body completely carbonized.
