Adrian Lyon attended the University of Richmond for two years.He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Richmond, Virginia on 12 July 1941.
The aircraft was shot down by enemy fighters. it ditched in shallow water about two miles off the shore. Four men survived and were taken prisoner, six men were killed.
