2nd Lt Victor A. Plekavick served with the Royal Canadian Air force before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 21 May 1942.

The airplane was shot down by enemy aircraft. Three crew members survived and were taken prisoner, seven men were killed.
