More information
Donald L. Snyder graduated from Milton High School ans was employed at the Middletown Air Depot. He enlisted on 18 February 1943.
Little is known about the fate of this airplane and of his crew members, because it made a forced landing in liberated territory and therefore no MACR was composed.
Records indicate that the airplane was attacked by German fighters and that Sgt Snyder was killed by gunfire of these fighters, most likely in the vicinity of the target. The airplane most likely crashlanded in the vicinity of Liège, Belgium.
He is remembered at the Harmony Cemetery in Milton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
