George E. Dumas graduated from Brockton High School in 1939.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 29 May 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island.
The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters and exploded in mid-air.
Nine crew members were killed, one man survived and was taken prisoner.
