James A Bayne graduated from Sewanhaka High School.

He enlisted at Fort Jay, New York on 8 July 1942.

Flak caused an explosion in the forward part of the airplane. After the explosion it was seen going in to a dive and never recover.

Two crew members survived and were taken prisoner, eight men were killed.
