S/Sgt Maurice D. Pershing graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1934.The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters and exploded in mid-air.
Nine crew members were killed, one man survived and was taken prisoner.
Maurice Pershing was first buried at the cemetery of Daaden, Altenkirchen.
