2nd Lt William C. Stewart Jr.graduated from Memphis Technical High School. He was in business with his father at The Stewart Coffee Company.He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Memphis, Tennessee on 9 October 1942.
The formation was attacked by enemy fighters. The #3 engine was on fire and the tail was shot off.
Six crew members were killed, three men were taken prisoner.
2nd Lt William C. Stewart Jr. is remembered at the Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.
