S/Sgt Clyde M. Walker was an attendant in a filling station.

He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 15 August 1940. He arrived overseas on 8 September 1944.

The airplane was attacked by a FW 190. The #2 engine was knocked out and the wing caught fire. It exploded and crashed.

According to a surviving crew member, the Germans had told him that S/Sgt Walker was in a hospital and was seriously wounded.
