Frank Fetherston immigrated with his family from Ireland, arriving in New York on 31 May 1926.

He was a clerck before he enlisted at Fort Jay, New York on 31 August 1942.

The airplane was attacked by a FW 190. The #2 engine was knocked out and the wing caught fire. It exploded and crashed.
