S/Sgt Leming Hull was a chauffeur before he enlisted in Cincinnati, Ohio on 11 November 1942.

The airplane was attacked and shot down by enemy fighters.

From a German report the following is quoted: "On 4 Mar 1944 at 1500 hours, a four engine enemy aircraft crashed, approximately 1 km north of the village of Kesseling (District of Ahrweiler). The a/c exploded on the ground when it crashed. It burned completely and could not be salvaged.

Only S/Sgt Hull was killed. According to reports of surviving crew members the Germans told them that he was found in the crashed plane.

S/Sgt Hull was buried on March 6 at the Minicipal cemetery of Kesseling.
