1st Lt Philip Mordkowitz worked in a textile factory.

He joined the Army Air Corps as a private in New York City, New York on 30 September 1940.

The aircraft was destroyed by fighters near Calais, France after being forced out to the formation due to flak damage. The aircraft was hit by flak just after bombs away. Gasoline immediately began to flow back across the wing and the aircraft began to fall behind the formation.
