S/Sgt George Knudsen was employed by the Mehl Plumbing Co.He enlisted in March 1942.
The aircraft was hit by flak just after bombs away. Gasoline immediately began to flow back across the wing and the aircraft began to fall behind the formation.
It was attacked by fighters near Calais, France.
