More information

A/C 42-29587 was on a mission to Gelsenkirchen on 12 August 1943 when it collided in mid-air with A/C 42-3162. Three men bailed out and were captured. The A/C crash landed with seven men still aboard. Surviving crew member reports indicate that S/Sgt Price had suffered severe head injury by enemy action prior to the crash. He apparently died from a blood clot as a result of his head injury about 2 weeks later.
