S/Sgt Nick Sandoff attended Jesup Scott High School. He was employed at Esquire Theater.

He enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 9 July 1942.

A/C 42-5391 took part in a bombing mission to the Focke Wulf plant at Bremen, Germany on 17 April 1943 and was shot down by enemy fighters. Five crew members bailed out with plane on fire and in dive from formation. Three crew members survived the crash. S/Sgt Sandoff was among the two crew members who were killed in the enemy fighter attacks.

The picture was taken in high school in 1938.
