S/Sgt Robert V. Gossage enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 9 February 1942.A/C 42-5362 took part in a bombing mission to Wilhelmshaven, Germany on 26 February 1943, at which time several aircraft were lost. No search was made. The aircraft was last seen off the coast of the German Frisian Islands. It crashed into the North Sea, killing all 10 crew members.
