1st Lt Robert S. Wylie enlisted on 14 March 1941 at Los Angeles, California. He attended college and was a clerk at Title Guarantee And Trust Company.The aircraft took a flak hit in the right wing which broke off at #4 engine.
Eight crew members were killed. They were first buried at the Memorial Cemetery at Elsgrund-Döbertitz on 24 May 1944. Between 30 November and 7 December their remains were disinterred and evacuated to Ardennes.
1 crew member, the co-pilot, Joseph J. Kozina, was taken prisoner.
