S/Sgt Edwin P. Mason graduated from Harding High School in 1942.He enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 11 August 1942.
The aircraft was attacked by enemy fighters and broke in two parts going into a slow spin over the North Sea. One chute was seen leaving the plane. Mason, who would have been 20 on March 16, 1944, had been in the army since August, 1942.
