Pfc James H. Siglin was employed at the Armour Tannery before he enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 28 November 1942. He trained at Camp Van Doren, Mississippi and Fort Dix, New Jersey, and was sent overseas in September 1944.

His brother, George E. Siglin, is also buried at Margraten Cemetery.

A third brother, Sgt Carl Siglin, served in England.
