Pfc John Harboy Jr. was employed by the Manhattan Furniture Company.

He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 26 April 1943 and had been overseas for only two months when he was killed.

At the time of his death his brother George served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific.
