Cpl Thomas W. Field graduated from Hanover High School in 1928 and was employed by the Madison-Louisville Transit Company.

He enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 23 February 1942. He was sent overseas 21 December 1944 and landed in France on 10 January 1945.
