Pfc William D. Potts worked on a farm before he enlisted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio on 7 March 1941 and was sent overseas in October 1943.He was married to Mildred Foreman on 21 February 1943.
He was driving a jeep with members of a patrol when they were fired upon from high ground to their front. He was killed as he ran for cover.
