Pfc Henry B. Boggs was employed at McMath Construction Company before he enlisted at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia on 23 November 1943.

He was sent overseas in June 1944 and was reported wounded in action in France, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
