More information
Pfc Robert V. Bagley graduated from Healdsburgh High School. He enlisted in San Francisco, California on 23 February 1943. He was stationed at Camp Swift in Texas where he received training in the army messenger service. He then was transferred to Camp Meade in Maryland.
His parents were advised by the war department that Pfc Bagley was taken prisoner on 12 December 1944 and that his death was due to a heart weakness. However, it is presumed that he died from the harsh treatment in the prison camp.
