S/Sgt John D. Forbes enlisted in Detroit, Michigan on 6 June 1941. He was taken prisoner of war on 18 December 1944 and died in POW Camp Stalag 9 C/Z in Muhlausen, Germany. He was a chauffeur before he enlisted.
