Bennie Milling enlisted in September 1942.Russell C. Ford's B-17, "Lady Jean", from the 96th Bomb Group was seen ditching in flames over the North Sea at 13:50 hrs. The cause for the fire was unknown. The crew was on its 11th mission and flew the group's first B-17 equipped with the new Bendix Chin Turret. No crewmembers survived.
