More information

S/Sgt Wayne R. Henley graduated from Paragould High School and attended Arkansas State College for one year. He was employed at the DuPont Company.

At 1319 hours a/c 502, Lt. C.E. Jennings, 339th Squadron was hit by flak over the target, peeled out of the formation in flames and began to lose altitude. The left wing broke off and the ship blew up near the ground. One parachute was seen. It is believed that S/Sgt Henley was killed when the plane exploded over the target.
