2nd Lt Charles L. Kizer graduated from Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1938. He attended college and was employed at the Federal Land Bank.He enlisted in 1942.
Russel C. Ford's B-17, "Lady Jean", from the 96th Bomb Group was seen ditching in flames over the North Sea at 13:50 hours. The cause for the fire was unknown. The crew was on their 11th mission and flew the group's first B-17 which was equipped with the new Bendix Chin Turret. None of the crew survived.
