Pvt Amos J. Parsons enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 9 October 1943.Amos Parsons was a Tank Man, killed by a shell in Belgium.
Mrs. Kathryn Parsons of Kingsport, has been notified by the War Department that her son, Pvt A.J. Parsons, Jr. was killed in action somewhere in Belgium, September 12.
Before entering the service Private Parsons was employed by the Holston Ordnance Works. He had been in the service 11 months, having served overseas five months. He received his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
