Pvt Carl S. Fisher enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 22 April 1944 and had been overseas since Christmas. Before entering the service he was employed at the Mechanicsburgh Naval Supply Depot. After entering the army he attended school eight weeks at the New Cumberland Reception Center and received further training at Camp Blanding in Florida and Fort George meade in Maryland.
