Cpl Chester E. Traxler enlisted in Portland, Oregon on 5 August 1943.He was employed by McKesson & Robbins company before his enlistment. He went overseas on 1 April 1944. Cpl Traxler was a member of the Midday lodge, No. 188, A. F. & A. M., and the Scottish Rite.
